Work Experience

Dr. Wu got his PhD degree in bioinformatics from James D. Watson Institute of Genome Sciences, Zhejiang University (2017-2012); worked as research assistant in Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2013-2014) and then had his postdoc training in Fredrik Bäckhed’s lab, University of Gothenburg, Sweden (2015-2020). He is now an independent PI in Human Phenome Institute, Fudan Microbiome Center, and Huashan Hospital, Fudan University.

Research Interests

His lab is mainly focused on studying the interactions between the gut microbes and us humans. To illustrate:

1)Gastrointestinal health and gut microbiota;
2)Microbial dysbiosis and incidence of various cardiometabolic diseases;
3)Diet- and drug- microbiota interactions;
4)Integration of multi-omics datasets;
5)Bacterial genomics and evolution.
