Zhong Chao, PhD, is a principal investigator and doctoral supervisor at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Peking University. He is also a high-level young talent recruited from overseas by the Chinese government. His main research focuses on the immune regulation mechanisms in organs and their correlations to major diseases. His representative work has been published in Nature Metabolism (2023,2022), Immunity (2020,2014), Nature Immunology (2016), and Nature Communications (2023). His studies are supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major research programs incubation projects, regional innovation joint fund key support projects, and key special projects of Ministry of Science and Technology. He also holds positions as Vice Secretary-General of the Gut Microbiota Branch of the Chinese Biophysical Society, member of the Autoimmune Disease Branch of the Chinese Society of Immunology, and Deputy Chairman of the Physiology Professional Committee of the Beijing Physiological Society.
